2024 Washington on the Brazos (WOB) (CORE – QUALIFIER) – CANCELLED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION
CANCELLED BY THE TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION COMMITTEE FOR 2024 DUE TO PARK RENOVATIONS…
Per Tynan Shadle, Lead Educator/Interpreter at Washington-on-the-Brazos, and coordinator for the annual Texas Independence Day Celebration.
Washington-on-the-Brazos is going through a massive renovation that will take full effect this fall. This will heavily impact our Texas Independence Day Celebration in March 2024.
Unfortunately, this means that we will not be having demonstrators, re-enactors, or info booths at our event this year, due to construction areas taking up a large part of the site, including all our indoor spaces (Star of the Republic Museum, Visitors Center, and Conference Center) being closed for renovation. The event will be heavily scaled down as the indoor spaces and restroom facilities we normally have for the number of guests we see won’t be available this year.
All Texas Independence Day activities are expected to resume in 2025.
