Come celebrate  Centennial year of the USS Selma. The USS SELMA was a World War 1 warship launched on June 28, 1919, just as the peace treaty of Versailles was finalized. No longer needed for trans-Atlantic ocean transport the SELMA was utilized in moving cargoes among Gulf ports. After an accident , SELMA was lodged in Galveston Bay on March 2, 1922. Pat Daniels bought the ship in 1992.

The Texas Army under the command of the late Gen. Carroll Lewis Jr. and Pat Daniels the series of SS Selma birthday parties was conceived and begun in 1993. Salutes of musket and cannon fire by the Texas Army have become popular features of subsequent Selma parties.
